Monday the 3rd November was a sad day for the community of Croom when the City Link buses made their last stop at the Mill Depot. The announcement of the closure some weeks ago came as a great shock to the commuters who would have used this hourly service on the Galway/Cork route.

The visitation to the cemeteries of the district took place on Sunday last 2.30 p.m. to Reilig Mhuire and Banogue 3.00 p.m. Fr. Kennedy officiated at Croom and Banogue. There was a very large attendance at both cemeteries.

St. Mary's Church, Croom commemorated the dead of the parish and families associated with the parish on Saturdays Vigil Mass. The mass was concelebrated by Fr. Eamon O'Brien C.C. and Fr. Joe Kennedy P.P.
